Dr. Andrade is a physician scientist with a focus on human immunology. He is currently the Principal Investigator and Department Head of the Laboratory of Clinical and Translational Research, Gonçalo Moniz Institute, Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. He is also Dean of Medicine and Research at Clariens Education, a holding company from the Mubadala Capital, UAE. He holds several professor appointments at different medical schools in Brazil (Medicina Zarns, UNIFACS and Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health). He coordinates a multinational group of translational medicine (MONSTER Initiative) that merges experimental and clinical data to describe inflammatory pathways involved in the immunopathogenesis of tuberculosis and HIV. Dr. Andrade is the Principal Investigator of RePORT Brazil consortium and director of the Biorepository of the common protocol in Brazil. He is also co-PI of the RePORT International Coordination Center.
